POSTER: Food
Today I bring you a new poster to review food. I have it already on the wall of my classroom. We are learning about cooking verbs and we use this poster to help us with some food and drinks that we do not remember or to solve some doubts about the correct spelling. I always say that in order to learn another language, you have to give your students the freedom to choose the vocabulary they need and not imposing them just a few words. If they want to write a recipe about their favourite food, you cannot limit the vocabulary. With these posters I help them to visualize better the content and so they do not have to spend much time looking after a word in the dictionary. Just a quick look and they will know how to write the word down properly.
My students are too young to learn all this in a few lessons, but that is not my objective either. These posters give them the confidence to write and speak fluently about themselves.
A meaningful learning is the best way!
Hoy traigo un nuevo póster para repasar comida. Yo ya lo tengo en la pared de mi clase. Estamos aprendiendo los verbos para cocinar y lo usamos para ayudarnos con alguna comida o bebida que no recordamos o para solucionar alguna duda sobre su correcta escritura. Siempre digo que para poder aprender otro idioma, tienes que dar al alumnado la libertad de escoger el vocabulary que necesitan y no imponerles sólo unas palabras. Si quieren escribir una receta de su comida favorita, no puedes limitarles el vocabulario. Con estos pósters les ayudo a visualizar mejor el contenido y así no tienen que tardar mucho tiempo buscando la palabra en el diccionario. Con sólo un vistazo sabrán como se escribe la palabra correctamente.
Mis niños y niñas son demasiado jóvenes para aprender todo esto en sólo unas clases, pero ese tampoco es mi objetivo. Estos pósters les dan la confianza para escribir y hablar con fluidez sobre ellos mismos.
¡La mejor manera es a través de un aprendizaje significativo!

There is always a moment in every school year where food takes place as a topic. Eat healthy has great importance in our daily routine. Maybe some of you are good at cooking… or want to be chefs when you grow up so this topic will be necessary for you. Everyone has to eat, is our vital function!
Siempre hay un momento a lo largo de curso escolar donde la comida se manifiesta como núcleo temático. Comer sano tiene mucha importancia en nuestra rutina diaria. Quizás algunos de vosotros sois buenos cocinando…o simplemente queréis ser cocineros de mayores así que este tema será necesario. ¡Todo el mundo come, es una función vital!
